Infrared heating heats people and objects in the room. Unlike conventional heating which heats the air, it rises and circulates, dislodges dust and allergens.
It is also worth emphasizing the fact that thanks to this action, there is no rapid air circulation, which causes significant temperature differences. Infrared heating guarantees a difference of 2-3C between the layers. With traditional heaters, this difference can be as much as 10C. It is also worth mentioning the healing properties of infrared rays on the human and animal body. They are used in medicine, inter alia, to eliminate rheumatological pains, joint and muscle pains.
Traditional heating systems using radiators heats the air, makes it move and rise, dislodging and circulating dust and allergens around the room and into your mouth and nose. IHelios Infrared heating does not work on the air so it is not circulated. This stops pollens moving around the room.
Traditional heating systems also move dust which settles on radiators. As the radiators reach a high temperature the dust dries and 'burns'. Breaking it up further, making it lighter and easier to dislodge and increases the allergen risk. This is more of a problem especially in winter when radiators are on at a higher temperature and for longer. People are more at risk being indoors for longer.
The iHelios foil can be installed in both depending on the preference of the customer. They do not take up much space and the heating films are invisible, installed between ceilings joints or under the flooring. The cost of installing in the ceiling is slightly lower than the floor due to lower material costs. Either way the performance of the film is not affected. The temperature distribution in the rooms of both will be comparable.
In buildings with traditional heating, warm air, being lighter than cold, rises upwards, while cold air falls downwards. This phenomenon is called convection current. However, in the case of iHelios infrared heating, the warm air is evenly distributed throughout the room.
During a power outage, no heating source will work. Gas central heating requires electricity to run.
In a typical 3-bedroom house or commercial space of usable area of up to 100 m2, the installation of iHelios heating foils usually takes around 3 working days. It does not matter whether the films are mounted on the ceiling or in the floor.
In a brand new build e.g. a commercial space of usable area of up to 100 m2, it can take much less, just a few hours as the developer can then apply their usual finishes.
20 or 30 years ago, electric heating was expensive, but it resulted from the use of now-'dated' devices the and insulation of buildings.
iHelios heating system has high efficiency, low energy consumption and can save energy consumption. When combined with solar panels (photovoltaic installation) we can achieve near 'free' heating. Power consumption may vary depending on EPC rating, building insulation, usage patterns and other factors. Proper insulation is critical for reducing heat loss and minimizing power consumption. If the building is poorly insulated, with significant draughts and lack of airtightness, it will require more energy to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature. Higher indoor temperature settings as well as the local weather conditions in terms of temperature difference will also impact power consumption.
During the initial start-up of the iHelios heating, it is normal for the system to consume more energy as it needs to heat up all the objects in the property. This may result in higher energy bills during the first few days of operation.
Infrared heating is one of the healthiest types of heating, recommended for people suffering from allergies or asthma. With this type of heating, radiators are not needed. Radiators harbour dust which is difficult to access and remove but which dries and circulates.
It is also healthy for the planet. With iHelios Heating foils combined with solar panels we take care of the environment through renewable energy sources. We limit the production of smog, which is a threat to the planet, our health and the environment.
The main advantages are many years of savings. The panels pay for themselves after just 2 years. By installing solar panels and iHelios in the house, you provide can be provided with electricity from your own 'mini-power plant'. Most often, in spring and summer, the solar panels produce much more energy than the household needs. The surplus electricity is old back to the power grid.
New build developments can save from the installation of utilities by using this combination. Self-sufficiency for energy is possible using our heating foils and photovoltaic installations. Perfect for caravans. craft sheds, small spaces (ask George Clarke), farms, kennels and many more applications.
